Once we conduct an overall health examination of the patient and decide on the specific size of breast augmentation they want, we will then go over the procedure with the patient. During a breast augmentation, our plastic surgeon will go in and place breast implants beneath the breast tissue or chest muscles. The incision site tends to be small since the implants squish down, which is seen as advantageous for recovery purposes. There are actually three different ways that a breast augmentation can be performed. The first is the most traditional and the implant is placed underneath the breast where the crease lies. The second option is under the arm, in the armpit area, which is popular since the scarring is not visible on the breast area.
